Meeting of September 8th, 2016

    This week our Nomadic club of many months met at Shadow Lake Golf & Racquet Club on a trial basis. It appears we are down to two finalists for our regular meetings, Shadow Lake and Lillian's. Please contact Robyn and/or Brian to vote for your preference and hopefully we will be able to pitch our tents once and for all as it has been a long circuitous journey. Thanks to Robyn for arranging the meeting at Shadow Lake.

    Important!!!

        This week, September 15th, we will meet at 6:30 P.M. at the Webster Arboretum, 1700 Schlegel Road. Brian is arranging for pizza with various toppings as expressed by members on Thursday night last so just bring your appetite. This is a regular meeting, not a work party.

    Treasurer John reminded us that dues are due, in fact if you have not paid them as yet they are past due. The dues are $155.00 and John will readily accept your remittance. Thanks for listening.

    September 22nd, Visit from our new District Governor, Tom Rodgers. Dinner meeting at Hedge’s Nine Mile Point Restaurant, 6:30 P.M. Please contact Robyn to let her know your choice of dinner, prime rib, chicken or fish.

    September 24th, Adopt-a-Highway, 7:30 A.M. Meet at gazebo parking lot in the village.

    September 25th, Hike for Haccamo, contact Dolly to sign up or sign up on line.

    September 29th, Our meeting place will be determined.

    November 9th, Eastern Cities Dinner (contact Jim Isaac)

    November 20th, Pancake Breakfast 

    December 9th, Annual Christmas Party for all the folks we support in the community.

    May 5th, 2017, (It will be here before you know it) Annual Charities Dinner

    Now here is a good idea:

        Karen Collins mentioned that at the recent District Conference various Rotary clubs had baskets filled with items representative of their locale. For example, Ontario/ Walworth (or was that Williamson?) had a basket filled with apples and apple-related items. Karen suggested that we begin now to assemble a basket for Webster starting with the Garlic Festival. We have a year to do this so we have time to be very creative. Thanks, Karen, for suggesting this. It sounds like fun!

Happy Dollars

    Now this is the hard part because I could not hear above the din of the crowd, however, most happy dollars, including mine, were just because we are happy. I was happy just to be among my Rotary family again.

    There were a few specific contributions I caught as follows:

    Robyn for winning $250 at the Kiwanis charities dinner, Terry C. for a pleasant day with her sister, Spence for the Garlic Festival, and Ray & Marlene for their first television commercial for their new e-commerce business venture (I think we all would like to know more about this, Ray & Marlene), and last but by no means least Brian was happy because he had a good colonoscopy which he colorfully described to us (aren’t colonoscopies fun?!).
