District Assembly
District Assembly will be Saturday, April 23 in Penn Yan. Kathy, Robyn, Dennis, Spencer and Susan will be attending.
District Conference
Attendees are Kathy, Robyn, Joe C, Ross, Norie, Karen, Rich, Brian, Amy, Dennis, and Mary. Unfortunately, the bus is a no go so we will look to rent a mini-van or van to drive down. We will go down with a Hawaiian theme for this year to represent the Webster club. Robyn guarantees, “We will all get leid at the conference!” Kathy will work on coordinating the table set up at the conference. If you have pictures, please send them her way.
Foundation Update
Bob reports that all club members have contributed $100! Our club goal is to try to reach $3,000.
Our Charities Dinner
49 tickets are still to be distributed. 109 have taken advantage of the early bird deadline. We need gift cards for the raffle/auction prizes. Each person is asked to bring at least 1 but the goal is to have 2 per person. Robyn will provide a letter if you are out asking for donations. Please bring in the gift cards no later than 5/6.
Golf Tournament
Robyn is in need of a jpeg of Camp Haccamo for the brochure. Dolly will try to get one for her or put her in touch with the right person. The tournament is scheduled for 6/24 at Eagle Vale. We are looking for hole and tournament sponsors.
Scholarships
Unfortunately none of the kids at Thomas Interact knew about the scholarship. Half of the money is disbursed in January and half in June. Many things have changed with the scholarship program. We need to set criteria for selection. Students need to provide class schedule, tuition bill, and transcripts of grades. We must keep document s for 7 years for recordkeeping purposes. We need to appoint a guardian of the documents. Interact ceremony at Thomas will be 5/12.
Girl Scouts
We raised $100 for the girl scouts. Robyn will purchase and deliver a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart and a $50 gift card to Hobby Lobby to the girl scouts on Sunday
Stop Hunger Now
Stop Hunger Now is Saturday. Ray, Marlene, and Robyn will be working the event and Joan is donating to the effort.
Sunshine Camp
Sunshine Camp cleanup is scheduled for 4/16 from 9-3. If you can help out, let Dolly know.
Returning Army Troop Celebration
Scheduled for June 11, 2016 at the American Legion in Webster from 12-4. We need to work on getting the brochure/invitation out soon. Police and Fire Department will escort the troops into Webster. We may possibly have the Patriot Guard as well. Meet at Crown Electric at 11:45 for the escort. Kathy will check with Joe P on the availability of the marching band.
Garlic Festival
Rich reported that there was a meeting yesterday. The profits will go to support the Miracle Field but that each organization will have an opportunity to select their own case as well. Lions will be using profits also to support Beep Baseball. They are still discussing how to decide where to donate the profits. They were able to get a great deal on generators due to the charities that they are supporting. Rich will bring in volunteer sheets at our next meeting. If you commit by 7/1, you will receive a T-shirt. Festival runs 9/10-11.
Changeover Dinner
Changeover dinner is scheduled for 6/30 @ Hedge’s. Brian and Robyn are looking at church venues for a permanent home. Webster Baptist called us opening their doors as a permanent home. Nucci’s not really conducive for a meeting place.
